During the internship, I contributed to the OpenStack Manila project and participated in the professional code review process used by open-source engineering teams.
The following milestones showcase my progression throughout the internship—from setting up my development environment to contributing code, participating in peer reviews, and collaborating with engineers during project discussions.
This early mentorship session shows the DevStack setup process, including SSH key creation, shared setup documentation, and Linux command-line work used to prepare the OpenStack Manila development environment.

This OpenDev contribution documents my first submitted code change to the OpenStack Manila project, adding JSON schema validation for the share type response. The change was submitted through Gerrit as part of the professional open-source development and review workflow.
This OpenDev review captures feedback on my OpenStack Manila contribution from my Red Hat mentor. I incorporated reviewer comments into my implementation, refining the schema validation and following the collaborative review workflow used by professional open-source development teams.
During this mentorship session, we discussed the OpenStack 2026.1 “Gazpacho” release, including new platform capabilities and the broader release process within the OpenStack community. This gave me exposure to how open-source cloud platforms evolve through coordinated development and release cycles.
